Insurance Claim Support: Adjacent Building Affected by Fire

Location: Brighton

Situation:

Following a devastating fire to the hotel in Brighton, the Clients neighbouring property was adversely affected by heat damage. The Client and their Agent required professional services in conjunction with Insurers' Loss Adjuster collaboration.


Solution:

AuthentiSurv undertook detailed surveys of the property (internal and external) to review both the direct impact from the neighbouring property fire, as well as general wear and tear of the building.

Liaison with the Insurers' Loss Adjuster and Clients' Agent, providing necessary reports as evidence of observations and findings, with subsequent scope of works for remediation.


Direct engagement and collaborative working with the neighbouring property reinstatement Contractors and stakeholders enabled pragmatic solutions to be found to very complex issues relating to access and building safety, shared H&S provisions and public safety measures.


It was identified that a number of pre-existing and unaddressed issues remained to the property that would be required and beneficial to action in conjunction with the insurance claim works, to ensure the greatest level of shared resource and value for money in reinstatement processes and long term building solutions.


Design, Specification, Tendering and Contract Appraisal services were subsequently provided in supporting reinstatement.
