Roof Collapse: Property Damage

Situation:

AuthentiSurv were contacted at 5:00pm on a Friday afternoon from the Clients' Agent requiring emergency support.

A Contractor was called to the site following cracking occurring internally, and quickly raised concerns to evacuate the property to avoid potential injury when they noticed the external wall being pushed outwards with falling brickwork.

Solution:

Where others were not available or answering the phone at this time, AuthentiSurv engaged immediately; liaised directly with the Contractor regarding arranging of access systems and temporary propping equipment and contacted various Structural Engineers for emergency/reactive support.

AuthentiSurv attended site first thing on Saturday morning alongside Blue Lake Consulting Engineers to review the property, roofspace and to liaise with the Contractor and Scaffolding Company to provide safe access and define a safe working methodology (alongside internal propping and support) to enable the Contractor to safely remove the collapsed roof section, remove loads and methodically strip back structure to allow safe reconstruction.
