Leak Detection and Defect Survey

Situation:

The Client was suffering direct water ingress and damp within their property; a luxury development in Winchester.

AuthentiSurv were contacted after numerous Contractors, Leak Detection Specialists and other third-parties had been out to look at the issues and related internal defects. The Property Manager was not happy with the outcome or recommendations of each, and therefore required professional services from an independent expert.

Solutions:

AuthentiSurv undertook an initial appraisal to identify matters that others had missed (based upon extensive building construction knowledge and experience of inspecting defects and associated symptoms).

A subsequent 'invasive investigation' was carried out in conjunction with the support of a local Building Contractor who opened up sections of the external cavity to allow a close review of lintels, cavity tray, parapet wall construction and coping stones.

AuthentiSurv identified the cause of the water ingress, illustrated why this was occurring and provided tangible solutions to addressing this in the long term. Producing sectional drawings further assisted in the clear illustration of how the wall has been built and where remedial works will prevent further issues.
